A PROJECT IN FOCUS
A 960MWP SOLAR AND BESS SYSTEM CONNECTED TO THE GRID
One of our US projects is project SunBear, an innovative solar plus energy storage project located in the four corners region and will provide a $1.5 Billion investment for southwestern Colorado. The project is situated on 5,000 acres of tribal land and Canigou are collaborating with the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe to develop this project. It will generate enough reliable clean energy to power more than 250,000 homes during peak generation.

The renewable energy markets of the United States, Spain, and Australia have all seen significant growth in recent years, particularly in the areas of solar photovoltaic (PV), wind, and batteries. This growth has been driven by increasingly ambitious renewable energy policies, technological advances, and falling costs of renewable energy systems.

At Canigou we are focused on exploring and developing innovative green technologies and move beyond the traditional wind, solar and geothermal. Green hydrogen is an exciting and rapidly developing source of green energy that could be a key player in carbon neutrality. Focusing on green hydrogen in the US, we are aiming to create a sustainable, affordable, and reliable source of green hydrogen for the US market. We are striving to make green hydrogen an accessible commodity for everyone across the United States and beyond.
WHAT ABOUT ENERGY STORAGE?
A different approach, using a DC Coupled Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
The future of green energy relies on battery storage and Canigou is building that future today. By adding battery storage to our solar power plants, we can create a more reliable and consistent power supply that can feed back into the grid when it’s needed the most. At our SunBear site we will be installing a battery storage system which will be one of the largest and most efficient battery storage systems in operation.
